This is an empowering, relational role within the Circle to Success Support Team, supporting children and young people on a positive path toward long-term success by working directly with them, their families and/or those who care for them to help build connections with the people who are important to them or to rebuild and nurture relationships, thus enabling young people to live securely within their family, care or extended networks. Working in partnership with children,young people, their families and their carers to deliver and provide services as their needs dictate. You will play a vital role in contributing to long-term planning for them, within which they are able to understand and tell their stories and build positive individual and family identities and shared connections. Whilst Circle to Success Support team is based within the Corporate Parenting Service, the role will work across different service areas and teams including children requiring safeguarding and support, cared for children, care experienced young people and children placed for adoption, ensuring a consistent and child-centred approach to relational work. You will play a key role in supporting children and young people to build secure, lasting relationships and achieve positive outcomes. Your work will involve you undertaking direct work with children, young people, their families, and carers to strengthen connections with those who are important to them, or to rebuild and nurture relationships that may have been disrupted. You will work in partnership with families and professionals to provide support that is responsive to individual needs. This includes contributing to long-term planning that enables children to understand and tell their stories, build positive identities, and develop a strong sense of belonging. You will contribute to a model of practice that is consistent, trauma-aware, and focused on the needs and experiences of children. You will use creative and therapeutic approaches, such as life journey work, to help children make sense of their experiences and feel empowered in their futures. You will be required to produce clear and concise summary reports to inform planning and intervention, and to chair review meetings that evaluate the progress and impact of interventions. Ideally, you have experience and understanding of trauma-informed practice and attachment, and how these experiences influence behaviour, development, and relationships. Experienced using an assessment framework you possess strong assessment and analytical skills. Your verbal, written, and communication skills are excellent, and you are well-organised. You are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people. You bring warmth, creativity, and resilience to your work, and are confident in building trusting relationships with children, families, and carers. Ideally, you have experience and understanding of trauma-informed practice and attachment, and how these experiences influence behaviour, development, and relationships. You are skilled in delivering relational, and trauma-informed work, and can adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each child or young person. You’re confident working both independently and as part of a wider professional network, and you’re comfortable visiting families in their homes and engaging in creative, child-centred interventions including life journey work.
