Overview
Sentara Urgent Care Gloucester is hiring a full‑time Certified Medical Assistant. All qualified candidates will receive a sign‑on bonus.
Schedule
Clinic hours: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday–Friday. Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Schedule will consist of two 12‑hour shifts: one 8‑hour shift and one 6‑hour shift with alternating weekends. Scheduled hours and shifts may vary based on business need and candidate availability.
Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant provides an environment for safety; identifies, addresses, and incorporates principles of safety for patients, visitors, and employees. Tasks include patient care procedures and administrative duties (as appropriate). The assistant assesses situations from multiple viewpoints, assists in developing realistic action plans, evaluates outcomes, and demonstrates the specific skills required of medical assistants. They maintain effective inter‑departmental interactions and follow department and system policies, procedures, and practices. Daily operations are performed productively and efficiently using resources that are safe, ethical, and fiscally responsible.
Education, Certification & Licensure
* HS – High School graduate or equivalent
* Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic Certification
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
Experience
Clinical or administrative experience preferred (1 year).
