The role
Orbit is delighted to be recruiting for the brand-new role of Corporate Communications Manager to join our Reputation and Brand team. In this role, you will lead and oversee the proactive creation, management and delivery of impactful and standout communications. You will build and protect the reputation of Orbit with external audiences, including media relations, corporate content across all channels (inc. social media, corporate reporting, Group website, award entries and stakeholder presentations) and support stakeholder engagement.
We will be conducting 1st stage interviews on the 25th of February in-person at our Coventry head-office.
What you'll achieve
This role will require you to lead and manage the corporate communications programme, work across teams and functions, including with senior leaders, to deliver successful external campaigns that build and protect the reputation of Orbit.
Own the management and delivery of the day-to-day corporate communications programme
Work with the Senior Reputation and Brand team to ensure the corporate communications programme focuses on supporting Orbit’s strategic priorities
Proactively develop and deliver creative communications and standout PR campaigns, which support Orbit’s 2030 Strategy, and ensure a positive reputation with stakeholders, the media and public
Take ownership of the delivery national, regional, local and trade media coverage, including thought leadership features, interview opportunities, comment pieces and speaker opportunities to raise Orbit’s profile and support its 2030 Strategy
Respond to and manage crisis communication situations and media enquiries, including managing internal stakeholders, keeping the Executive team updated as necessary, and meeting out of hours rota requirements
To lead and manage the PR team including all aspects of appraisal, development, performance and attendance and ensuring the effective delivery of the PR and corporate comms programme
Work closely with the External Affairs, Customer Communications and Internal Comms teams to maximise key messages across a range of stakeholder groups and identify positive PR stories including commentary on government policy.
Write and manage the production of high-quality material including Annual Report & Accounts, corporate reporting and presentations, press releases, case studies, web copy, literature, marketing material, award entries, scripts and reports
