Secondment Opportunity
Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager and complete the secondment request form prior to interview. The candidate should bring the form to the interview as confirmation that an agreement has been granted.
A fixed‑term opportunity for a midwife to cover a nine‑month period of maternity leave. The Women & Children’s Directorate is seeking midwives to work as autonomous practitioners delivering midwifery practice while providing holistic care to families in Forth Valley. Applicants should be highly motivated to work in all areas of midwifery within an integrated team model of care.
* Work patterns: choice of 7½‑hour, 10½‑hour, or 12‑hour shifts.
* Setting: modern, clean hospital in a woodland area and community hubs; birthing unit includes birthing pools.
* Environment: calm, relaxing labour ward with portable CTG monitoring, aromatherapy, and birthing equipment.

Work Hours and Pay
As from 1 April 2026 the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
