Do you have proven experience delivering CE&I design in compliance with BS 61508 and BS EN 13849?
Can you demonstrate hands-on experience producing machinery risk assessments and performance level assessments?
The Opportunity
You will be responsible for producing engineering design work packages (including specifications, drawings, analysis, verification and assessments) that meet legal, functional and performance requirements within agreed time, cost and quality parameters.
Working as part of an integrated delivery team, you will support the Lead Engineer in preparing design documentation for safety-related systems, machinery, and equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
* Produce design documentation including specifications, drawings, calculations, verification reports and assessments.
* Support the Lead Engineer in the preparation and delivery of complete design packages.
* Undertake machinery risk assessments and develop performance level assessments.
* Contribute to the design of safety-related control and instrumentation systems in line with BS 61508 and BS EN 13849.
* Prepare documentation to support procurement, build, and testing phases.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and regulations (e.g. CDM, IET Wiring Regulations).
* Provide design input for building electrical services, space management, cable routing and cable management.
* Work collaboratively as part of an integrated project team, while also being capable of independent delivery under time constraints.
Qualifications & Experience
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
* Demonstrable experience delivering against BS 61508.
* Experience delivering systems compliant with Machinery Safety Regulations and BS EN 13849
* Strong background in the design of Safety Systems, including the production of DSJR and SRE Check Sheets.
* Experienced in machinery risk assessments and performance level assessments.
* Significant demonstrable experience in CE&I project delivery.
* Proven experience in building electrical services design.
* Competent in the application of CDM Regulations.
* Competent in applying IET Wiring Regulations.
* Experience with space management, cable routing and cable management.
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
It’s great if you also have the following
* Certified TÜV SÜD: FSE, CMSE, ISO 13849, IEC 60261 (or equivalent certification).
* EngTech accreditation or higher.
* Degree qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline.
* Experience across CE&I capabilities such as radiometrics, instrumentation, and safety systems.
