Freelance Site Engineer
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Start Date: January 2026
Duration: 4-5 months
I am recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a well-established civils and groundworks subcontractor delivering major packages on a large-scale industrial unit in Doncaster. This is a long-term opportunity starting in January 2026, working on a high-profile project for a Tier 1 main contractor.
Role & Responsibilities
•Setting Out: Drainage, Foundations, HD Bolts, Slabs, Externals, Attenuation
•Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built drawings
•Quality assurance, ITPs, and ensuring works are delivered to specification
•Assisting with permits, RAMS, and temporary works where required
•Liaising with the site management team, designers, and the Tier 1 contractor
•Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to budget
Requirements
•Proven experience as a Site Engineer on civils and groundworks projects
•Background working for subcontractors on large industrial / commercial schemes
•Strong setting out skills with GPS/Total Station
•CSCS card (essential)
•SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
•Full UK driving license
•Strong communication and reporting skills
