An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for an Outreach Worker to join our Violence Against Women (VAW) service on a permanent basis.

Position Details
\n
The VAW Service has responsibility for convening and coordinating the work of the city-wide Glasgow Violence Against Women Partnership (GVAWP) and all of its associated working groups. The service is committed to supporting the meaningful inclusion of lived experience.
\n
This partnership is concerned with ensuring Glasgow has the right services to support women and children who experience any form of violence against women, including domestic abuse; rape and sexual violence; stalking and harassment; commercial sexual exploitation, including prostitution; forced and child marriage; female genital mutilation (FGM); honour-based abuse; and adult survivors of child sexual abuse. The service supports the GVAWP taking forward actions at a local level as agreed in the Scottish Government’s Equally Safe Strategy to prevent, and eradicate, all forms of violence against women and girls.

The Outreach Worker role will support and develop multiagency practice in Glasgow in relation to violence against women to support the delivery of the city-wide strategic plan. The post holder will be responsible for developing and supporting a range of interagency activity in the city. A key responsibility will be ensuring effective involvement of the women’s voluntary sector in taking these issues forward.

An SCQF Level 6 qualification or significant relevant experience is an essential requirement of the role.

Contract Details
\n
Weekly Hours: 35 per week
\n
Work Pattern: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
\n
Annual Salary: £29,751.95 - £33.585.88 on an incremental scale
\n
