Family Legal Secretary – Huddersfield An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Personal Injury Lawyer to join a well-established and forward-thinking law firm based in Leeds. The Role: You will manage your own caseload of litigated and non-litigated personal injury claims, with a value of up to £100,000. This includes handling both RTA and non-RTA matters, ensuring each claim progresses efficiently from instruction through to resolution. The position requires sound legal judgement, effective communication and strong organisational skills to achieve the best possible outcome for clients. Key Responsibilities: Manage a varied caseload of litigated and non-litigated personal injury claims up to £100,000 Handle Fixed Fee and Portal RTA, including untraced and uninsured MIB claims Obtain appropriate medical and non-medical evidence in accordance with track and recoverability requirements Issue proceedings and manage claims via the Court Portal Attend conferences, hearings and case management conferences with Counsel where necessary Advise clients on litigation and cost risks, as well as potential issues such as fundamental dishonesty Liaise with insurers, defendant Solicitors and other external parties to ensure timely and cost-effective claim resolution Use the PI Calculator and case management systems efficiently to progress files Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with professional conduct rules and internal policies Keep clients informed throughout the life of the claim, balancing technology with a personal, empathetic approach Contribute to team success through collaboration, mentoring and knowledge sharing Experience and Knowledge: Solicitor or CILEx Lawyer with litigation rights, or working towards qualification Experience managing your own caseload of personal injury claims, both litigated and non-litigated, across all RTA Portals and the Intermediate Track Experience handling EL/PL or OL cases would be advantageous Strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant case law Excellent customer care and communication skills Ability to work to fee and settlement targets Good IT and case management system skills Organised, efficient and able to prioritise effectively in a busy environment A positive, adaptable and team-oriented approach What's on Offer?
