About The Role
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. Our residents come from diverse backgrounds in dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care settings, and every team member understands that residents are people with their own stories. You will have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to those people.
For you, this will mean planning and implementing care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know residents and their families, helping to deliver truly personalised care plans. You will lead a team of Care Assistants, maintaining the highest standards of care and influencing the team positively. You may show someone how to use a walking frame, assist with meals at the end of life, or speak with a resident’s family, always with kindness. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, and you will administer medication as required.
Maintaining accurate records of your work and building strong relationships with your team are key responsibilities.
Ideally, you’ll have completed a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care (S/NVQ) and be prepared to work towards Level 3 or equivalent, with experience in person-centred care planning and caring for people with dementia. What’s essential is your positive energy and ability to get along with people, good record-keeping, time management, and a genuinely kind and considerate approach whenever you communicate with residents or co-workers.
About HC-One
At HC-One, kindness is more than a word. It is a belief that caring for people means caring about what matters most to them so they can lead their best possible life. We emphasise five qualities in our team: Kindness the HC-One Way—curious, compassionate, creative, courageous, and counted on. We champion inclusivity and a diverse workforce that represents the communities we serve.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All colleagues attend safeguarding training and may undertake additional training. You will have access to advice and escalation mechanisms as needed.
