About the Role
We are seeking an experienced commercial contracts lawyer to join our in-house legal team. The role offers flexibility regarding location within the UK and hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will:
1. Negotiate contracts with clients, including MSAs and public-sector frameworks, and advise on agreements with subcontractors, suppliers, and others.
2. Review and improve standard terms of business based on negotiation experiences and operational issues.
3. Handle various commercial contracting issues, such as local-country adoption contracts, data-sharing agreements, secondment agreements, and software supply contracts.
4. Interpret contractual provisions for colleagues and provide legal input on diverse contracting situations, including termination clauses and non-disclosure agreements.
5. Advise on risk management and compliance issues related to services delivered.
6. Assist with collaboration agreements and referral contracts.
7. Collaborate with the Office of the General Counsel and risk management teams to advise and support staff, including partners and directors.
8. Guide and support less experienced lawyers, providing feedback and development opportunities.
9. Identify risk trends and recommend mitigation strategies, including updates to templates and procedures.
10. Contribute to legal education across the firm through training and guidance materials.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
* Qualified solicitor or barrister.
* Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
* Knowledge of professional liability law and professional services contracting.
* Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Experience in managing and mentoring colleagues.
