Head of Global Energy Markets

SuperPower is building a global platform for renewable energy procurement and distributed energy participation across multiple electricity markets. The company aggregates demand and supply signals across digital networks and physical energy infrastructure to enable new forms of renewable energy contracting and grid participation.
We are hiring a Head of Global Energy Markets to design and execute our global power market strategy across renewable procurement, distributed energy supply, and grid market participation.
This role will lead renewable offtake structuring, distributed energy participation frameworks, and electricity market strategy across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and emerging markets.
You will build the commercial architecture that connects renewable generation, distributed energy resources, and electricity market participation into a scalable global platform.
What You Will Own
Renewable Energy Procurement
Structure and negotiate renewable offtake agreements across global electricity markets, including VPPAs and PPAs.
Translate aggregated demand signals into bankable long-term energy contracts.
Evaluate forward curves, capture risk, basis risk, and merchant exposure across markets.
Develop repeatable contracting frameworks that allow expansion across multiple jurisdictions.
Distributed Energy Participation
Design commercial participation models for distributed energy resources including solar, batteries, and other flexible assets.
Develop pricing and incentive frameworks that enable participation from distributed suppliers.
Work with utilities, DER aggregators, and device manufacturers to enable integration of distributed energy supply.
Establish scalable market participation frameworks for distributed energy across regions.
Grid Market Strategy
Design participation strategies across wholesale electricity markets including demand response, capacity markets, ancillary services, and energy trading and dispatch.
Build frameworks that capture margin across procurement, dispatch, and market participation.
Evaluate regulatory, political, and market structure differences across global electricity markets.
Develop entry strategies for new regions.
Establish margin capture frameworks across procurement, supply participation, and grid market activity.
Required Background
5-10 years in wholesale power markets, renewable energy structuring, energy trading, or distributed energy markets.
Direct experience participating in PPA or VPPA negotiations.
Strong financial modeling capability across forward power curves and risk exposure.
Experience navigating regulatory variability across multiple electricity markets.
Understanding of credit, collateral, and counterparty risk in energy contracts.
Comfort operating in emerging or semi-liquid power markets.
Profile

You understand how value is created across renewable procurement, electricity markets, and distributed energy participation. You are comfortable designing commercial structures that operate across multiple jurisdictions and evolving market structures.
