Atkinson Moss are working exclusively with a charity based in the heart of Norwich. We are looking for a talented and motivated Head of Finance to join the Senior Management Team on a part time basis. This is a pivotal role in shaping the financial sustainability of the charity and supporting the mission to inspire, support and celebrate the charity
As Head of Finance, you’ll lead the organisation’s financial strategy and day-to-day financial operations, ensuring we have the systems, insights, and resources in place to deliver our ambitions. From strategic planning and audit management through to overseeing payroll and supporting fundraising bids, you will play a vital role in enabling the charity to grow.
Key responsibilities include:
Working with the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team to set and deliver short, medium, and long-term financial strategies.
Preparing and presenting financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and analysis to support informed decision-making.
Managing relationships with auditors, statutory bodies, funders, and sponsors, ensuring all financial compliance requirements are met.
Overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including payment runs, reconciliations, payroll, pensions, and banking.
Acting as Company Secretary and managing the Finance & Audit Committee.
Leading and supporting the Senior Finance Officer, ensuring strong financial controls, efficient processes, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Collaborating across the organisation to support grant applications, fundraising initiatives, and income-generating opportunities.
We are seeking a qualified (or part-qualified) finance professional with proven experience in financial management, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector. You’ll bring:
Strong strategic financial planning and reporting skills.
Knowledge of statutory accounting requirements (Charity SORP and Companies Act).
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial insights for non-financial colleagues.
Experience of leading audits, managing budgets, and working with boards or committees.
A collaborative, proactive approach and the confidence to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels.
