GSL Education are offering opportunities for SEN Teaching Assistants to work within schools across Wakefield (WF4), providing tailored support to pupils who require extra help to access learning and thrive in the classroom. As SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistants, you will support teachers and staff to provide tailored help, enabling pupils to build confidence, independence, and positive engagement in a safe, inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual needs. Assist with the delivery of structured and accessible learning activities. Support behaviour management using positive strategies. Encourage social development and emotional wellbeing. Monitor progress and share observations with teaching staff. Requirements: Previous experience working as SEN Teaching Assistants or supporting children with special educational needs. A degree in Education, Psychology, SEN or CACHE Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare is desirable but not mandatory. A patient, flexible, and supportive approach to learning support. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
