Payroll Team Lead

Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset

Compensation: Attractive Salary + Benefits

At Cavendish Nuclear we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Payroll Team Leader at our Hinkley Point C site, you will be part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project, coordinating the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air‑Conditioning (MEH) services.


Role Overview

This is a permanent role based at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will lead a team of Payroll Coordinators and ensure accurate, timely payroll processing for a large blue‑collar workforce, directly contributing to employee wellbeing and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead and support Payroll Coordinators, manage workload distribution, and serve as an escalation point.
* Coordinate payroll activities using the Kronos Time and Attendance system following approved procedures.
* Act as the MEH focal point for all on‑site payroll matters for blue‑coloured personnel up to Superintendent level.
* Resolve pay queries efficiently to support positive industrial relations and employee engagement.
* Collaborate with HR and IR teams to ensure compliance with operational agreements and payroll processes.


Essential Experience

* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or demonstrable competency through assessment/interview.
* Strong IT skills across the full Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and data analysis.
* Experience working in a payroll department managing multiple payrolls and pay types.


Qualifications

* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.


Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) clearance.
