As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. Responsibilities
* Plan and implement care to give residents security, dignity and independence.
* Get to know residents and their families to deliver truly personalised care plans.
* Lead a team of Care Assistants and maintain the highest standards of care; be a positive influence on the team.
* Show someone how to use a walking frame, help someone at the end of life to eat a meal, or speak with a resident's family on the phone, always with kindness.
* Assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager; provide physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities; administer medication.
* Maintain accurate records and build strong relationships with the team.
Qualifications
* Ideally, Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care (S/NVQ) and prepared to work toward Level 3 or equivalent; background in person-centered care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
* Essential: brilliant positive energy and ability to get along with people; good record-keeping; time management; be considerate and kind when communicating with residents and co-workers.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You will be able to recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect and know what to do if concerns arise. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training as needed. You will have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
