Signature Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Facilities and Building Project Coordinator to join a well-regarded London higher education institution. This fixed-term contract runs for 10 months and is fully office based in London, Monday to Friday 8:30am–4:30pm. The role offers a salary of £38,000 – £41,000 per annum.
This role supports the smooth operation of teaching, research and shared spaces within a large and active academic building. Working closely with the Facilities and Buildings Projects Manager, you will help ensure rooms, equipment and communal areas are safe, organised and ready for daily use. The position requires someone who enjoys being active across a building, engaging with staff, students and contractors while proactively identifying and resolving operational issues. You will gain valuable experience across facilities operations, health and safety coordination and minor project work within a complex and busy environment.
Facilities and Building Project Coordinator - Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate departmental health and safety inspections and maintain accurate safety records and documentation
* Support minor refurbishment and facilities improvement projects, liaising with contractors and building teams
* Monitor teaching rooms, meeting spaces and common areas to ensure they remain functional and well organised
* Engage with staff, students and contractors to respond to facilities queries and resolve operational issues
* Conduct regular building walkthroughs to identify maintenance or safety concerns and arrange follow-up actions
* Maintain facilities action logs and support the coordination of operational tasks across the building
Facilities and Building Project Coordinator - Key Skills:
* Facilities management experience within an operational environment
* Strong time management with the ability to balance multiple priorities
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Proactive approach with strong situational awareness and initiative
You will be joining a collaborative and people-oriented environment with an open-door culture. The role involves regular engagement with a diverse staff and student community, so a helpful and professional approach is key. Due to the operational nature of the position, the successful candidate will be comfortable moving throughout the building, maintaining visibility across facilities and responding quickly to issues as they arise.
