Long-Term 1:1 EYFS Teaching Assistant Role in Shirebrook
We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate 1:1 EYFS Teaching Assistant to take on a long-term, full-time role at a welcoming primary school in Shirebrook.
The role will involve working closely with a child in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who has very complex needs, including:
* Complex ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
* Non-verbal communication needs
* Emotional outbursts
* Suspected Pica

Your Role Will Include:
* Providing 1:1 support for a child with complex additional needs in EYFS
* Using tailored strategies to support communication, learning, and emotional regulation
* Assisting with personal care and ensuring the child's safety and well-being
* Implementing strategies advised by SENCOs and external specialists
* Supporting social interaction, independence, and engagement through structured activities
* Building a trusting relationship with the child and maintaining consistency throughout the school day
What We're Looking For:
* Level 3 Childcare or Early Years qualification (essential)
* SEND experience, ideally supporting children with complex ASD and communication needs
* Knowledge of Makaton (highly desirable)
* A patient, calm, and nurturing approach with the ability to manage emotional outbursts
* Strong communication skills to work effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
