Are you a Qualified Accountant with a passion for financial reporting and a keen eye for detail? Saffron Building Society is seeking a talented Financial Reporting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of our financial reporting and statutory disclosures.
Role Purpose & Responsibilities
As the Financial Reporting Manager, you will be at the forefront of delivering high-quality financial statements and coordinating annual audits. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining effective financial controls that align with regulatory and governance expectations. Key responsibilities include:
* Financial Reporting Excellence: Prepare statutory accounts and assist with strategic reports, ensuring compliance with FRS 102 / IFRS and all relevant regulatory requirements.
* Audit Coordination: Manage the external audit process, liaising with auditors and specialists to resolve technical queries and ensure timely delivery of audit schedules.
* Regulatory Reporting: Deliver essential regulatory reports to HMRC (ISA, BBSI, CRS, FATCA), PRA, and FCA, contributing to our reputation for financial transparency and compliance.
* Financial Controls: Maintain robust financial controls, prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
* Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and coach finance professionals, setting clear objectives and conducting regular performance reviews to foster their professional growth.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with proven experience in financial reporting, audit, or accounting within a regulated financial services environment. You should possess:
* Strong technical expertise in FRS 102 / IFRS.
* Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with auditors and stakeholders.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
