The Opportunity
The Maintenance Team Leader is a key role responsible for prioritizing and delivering the daily KPIs within the engineering department. The Team Leader will serve as the first point of contact for the engineering manager and external stakeholders involved in engineering activities.
Responsibilities include maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving the reliability of all equipment on site, as well as assisting in planning and executing engineering activities. The role also involves reading, writing, and implementing Dechra QMS documentation, such as change controls, deviations, and CAPAs, into engineering workflows across the site.
This role operates in shifts: 6 am - 2 pm one week and 2 pm - 10 pm the following week.
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have responsibilities including:
* Distributing and monitoring the team's work to achieve planned maintenance programs, ensuring equipment reliability and asset performance improvement.
* Keeping the online ticketing system up to date, ensuring timely completion of work orders with detailed asset history documentation.
* Leading engineering RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to prevent recurrence of issues.
* Performing calibration services according to work order instructions, procedures, and standards.
* Continuously improving equipment safety, efficiency, changeovers, and minimizing downtime.
* Completing daily administrative tasks such as shift handovers and DRM board updates.
* Participating in tier 1 meetings related to packing and manufacturing, and communicating actions back to engineering.
* Supporting problem-solving sessions site-wide from an engineering perspective and completing QMS documentation within deadlines.
The Ideal Candidate

* Will be required to pass a basic DBS check before employment and periodically during employment, paid for by Dechra.
* Have experience managing a team within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Have industry experience in pharmaceuticals, food, or chemicals (desired but not required).
* Are familiar with working on production equipment such as filling lines, conveyors, autoclaves, tablet presses, granulators, WFI systems, and heat sterilizers.
* Possess an electrical bias background (preferred).
* Have experience coaching and developing colleagues.
* Are capable of working cross-functionally.
* Have strong planning and organizational skills.
