Secure Innovation is part of CGI’s Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit, focused primarily on the delivery of contemporary and innovative technical solutions for government agencies. Our teams work alongside clients to help them understand and exploit technologies to maintain a competitive advantage. We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer who can think creatively to overcome technical challenges.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and automating our infrastructure systems. This involves working on task packages on a 10-week cadence, derived from a backlog and aligned with organizational Program Increment (PI) Planning. The Network Engineer will ensure network robustness and efficiency, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.
* Network Automation: Develop and implement automation solutions using scripting languages like Python to manage and operate networks, including event-triggered automation.
* Task Package Execution: Work on assigned tasks ensuring timely delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and participating in backlog refinement.
* Network Design and Monitoring: Design scalable network architectures, monitor traffic and performance, and manage multicast flows.
* High Availability and Load Balancing: Implement load balancing, ensure network resilience through redundancy, and validate high availability setups.
* Collaboration and Documentation: Work with other IT teams, document configurations and scripts, and support junior staff.
Required qualifications:
* Extensive experience with multicast network flows.
* Proficiency in switching and routing protocols.
* Knowledge of load balancing and high availability solutions.
* 3-5 years in network engineering with automation focus.
Must hold active HMG HLC Clearance and be a UK National.
