About Us
Your Space Foundation CIC is dedicated to supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children, young people, and their families. We collaborate with schools, families, and professionals to offer inclusive, trauma-informed therapeutic support.
The Role
We are seeking qualified, compassionate Children and Young People’s Counsellors for a hybrid, flexible role in Southampton. You will provide one-to-one counselling for children and adolescents aged 5 and up, addressing issues such as trauma, anxiety, neurodiversity, and self-harm.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Therapeutic Support
* Provide weekly counselling, with occasional group work.
* Use age-appropriate interventions (play therapy, creative therapy, CBT, solution-focused approaches).
Assessment and Planning
* Conduct initial assessments and develop support plans.
Safeguarding and Risk Management
* Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns per policy and legal obligations.
* Liaise with safeguarding leads and external agencies.
* Complete safety planning.
* Communicate with families, carers, schools, and teams, maintaining confidentiality.
Record Keeping and Evaluation
* Maintain accurate records on our secure platform.
* Evaluate therapeutic impact using outcome measures and feedback.
Professional Development
* Attend clinical supervision.
* Stay updated with best practices and ethical standards.
Qualifications and Experience
* Level 5 qualification in counselling/psychotherapy with CYP specialism or a Diploma in Play Therapy.
* Registration with a recognised professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, NCS).
* Applications from newly qualified counsellors are welcome.

Rates of Pay
