We are currently recruiting experienced and dedicated 1:1 SEN Tutors to provide personalised support to pupils in home or school settings across the S42 area.
This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN/SEND), including those who may be experiencing gaps in learning, anxiety, school avoidance, Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH needs, or other barriers to education.
You will deliver tailored tuition sessions designed to meet each pupil’s individual needs, helping them build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve positive educational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition sessions
• Adapt teaching methods and learning resources to suit individual needs
• Support pupils academically, emotionally, and socially
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and schools
• Encourage confidence, engagement, and independence in learning
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate session records
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements
• Minimum 1 year teaching or tutoring experience within the UK
• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• Patient, reliable, and flexible approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Driving licence and access to transport preferred
Desirable Experience
• SEN/SEND experience
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, or anxiety
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or tutoring background
• Experience delivering English, Maths, Functional Skills, or intervention support
• Experience working within alternative provision or outreach settings
