The Senior Art Director works closely with the Senior Styling Manager and the Creative & Design team to translate all New Look products into e-commerce product shoots, always upholding and enhancing the New Look brand. You will understand and support the vision of the Creative Director to ensure a unified creative vision across all New Look touchpoints. You will collaborate with the Senior Styling Manager to evolve the art direction of the product pages each season, aligning with the seasonal creative look and feel. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across New Look will be essential. You will enjoy working collaboratively with all studio team members as well as the NL creative and design teams. As an excellent communicator at all levels, you will be on set daily (5 days per week), working with different teams to ensure everyone understands the creative vision, develops their skills, and produces imagery of a consistent high standard. Responsibilities include:
1. Art directing daily e-commerce shoots across various product categories, including model and still life shoots, ensuring high standards and consistent art direction.
2. Ensuring daily shoot targets are met (e.g., 35 products per day for BAU / 20+ for focus shoots).
3. Final image selection to showcase products optimally for maximum sales conversion.
4. Collaborating with Photography Managers and the Senior Styling Manager to develop art direction, seasonal lighting refreshes, and proposals for special projects.
5. Creating guides on best crops and poses for each product category, including what to avoid.
6. Communicating creative directions at season start using visual mood boards and Art Direction Guides.
7. Obtaining approval for all art direction elements from the Creative Director in advance.
8. Designing 4-5 personas representing NL customers and tailoring art direction accordingly.
9. Building a roster of talented freelancers, including photographers, stylists, and makeup artists.
10. Developing strategies with the Head of Studio to support increasing creative asset needs.
11. Attending Season Design presentations and translating them into e-commerce content aligned with in-store experiences.
12. Art directing special projects such as trend launches, POS, and store windows.
13. Handling ad hoc projects and participating in department meetings, mentoring junior team members.
Requirements include:
* Minimum 5 years experience in art direction within an e-commerce fashion studio.
* Calm under pressure with a positive, proactive attitude.
* Strong understanding of the NL customer and customer-focused decision-making.
* Outstanding communication skills at all levels.
* People management and mentoring skills.
* Excellent time management and studio lighting knowledge.
* Experience with Capture and Photoshop.
