Job Overview
We now have vacancies for part time Ward Clerks to work on the SDEC Unit (Same Day Emergency Care) at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward/unit staff.
* Responsible for the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients and the smooth running of the ward/department office.
* Provide general assistance to the ward/unit staff.
* Work as members of a team based in the Emergency Department and provide friendly, confidential, speedy, courteous and effective reception and registering service for patients, relatives and visitors attending the department.
* Register and discharge patients on the Emergency Department IT system, GP OOH system, book follow up appointments for various out-patient clinics and record admission details on Patient Centre.
* Deal with a range of face to face and telephone enquiries from nursing and medical staff, patients, relatives, GPs and external agencies, providing general advice and information.
* Undertake a comprehensive range of administrative and clerical duties.
Qualifications
Must have good communication and IT skills and be able to work under pressure.
