Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to work with the Energy Team on National Grid, Substations Projects across the South West & South Wales. Today we support transmission and distribution projects in multiple countries, delivering design, construction and commissioning for Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects and solutions in conventional power and energy transition markets.
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Project Manager:
Responsibilities
* Be fully accountable for the delivery of projects, ensuring safety, on-time completion, contract compliance and budget adherence.
* Set the overall standard on the project/contract.
* Identify and deliver project requirements; resolve issues in a controlled and timely manner.
* Plan, review and deliver contract programmes.
* Line manage Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers and Section Managers.
* Maintain effective client relationships and provide updates to internal and external stakeholders on project progress.
* Ensure operating plans provide sufficient resources and materials.
* Resolve operational issues; most critical issues to be referred to the Project Director.
* Manage all commercial activities including delivery of gross margin, cost control and other key financial metrics.
* Overall performance management of subcontractors with regard to the gross margin and cost controls.
Qualifications
* Experience in delivering HV Transmission & Distribution or Major Civils projects.
* Experience in a Senior Project Manager role.
* HNC / HND or NVQ Level 5 (or Degree).
* Experience working on complex multi-discipline enhancement projects, delivering within programme and cost controls.
