Supported Housing Officer – Activities & Events
Salary: £34,904 + excellent benefits
Location: Goldings House, Hatfield
Hybrid working: Mainly office-based at Goldings House with some opportunities to work from home.
Contract: Fixed‑term contract (covering a secondment until October 2027)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday–Friday)

We’re looking for a creative, energetic and supportive Supported Housing Officer – Activities & Events to join our Goldings House team. This is a rewarding role where you’ll design and deliver a full calendar of activities, workshops and events that help young residents build independence, learn new skills and discover their strengths.
You’ll work closely with Supported Housing Officers and the wider Foyer team to understand residents’ needs, co‑create opportunities with them, and deliver sessions that build confidence, wellbeing and life skills. From budgeting workshops and cooking sessions to employment support, community events and wellbeing activities; you’ll be at the heart of helping young people thrive.
This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same. You’ll bring ideas, enthusiasm and compassion, and you’ll play a key part in shaping the resident experience at Goldings House.

Key Responsibilities
* Complete sign‑up assessments with new residents to understand their needs and aspirations
* Consult with young people to shape activities and influence services
* Design and deliver a varied programme of activities within an agreed budget
* Promote independence by helping residents understand responsibilities and develop essential life skills
* Connect residents to local opportunities including employment, training and wellbeing services
* Develop tools and workshops to help young people manage household finances confidently
* Support residents preparing to move on, including housing options, home maintenance, budgeting, cooking and shopping
* Plan and deliver learning sessions that build confidence and practical skills
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Foyer team
About You
You’re someone who genuinely cares about young people and believes in their potential. You bring positivity, creativity and patience and you know how to motivate, empower and support residents through challenges and successes.
You’re confident communicating with young people, colleagues and partners, even in difficult situations. You’re a team player who’s always willing to help, and you bring a proactive, problem‑solving mindset to everything you do.
Most importantly, you’re someone who can build trust, show empathy and create a safe, supportive environment where young people feel valued and encouraged.

Must haves
* Experience supporting or motivating vulnerable young people
* Ability to communicate clearly and negotiate in challenging situations
* A positive, proactive approach to problem‑solving and service improvement
* Ability to empower, encourage and empathise with young people
* Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support colleagues
Nice to haves
* A relevant qualification in youth work, support work or similar, or willingness to work towards one

Working Hours
* 37 hours per week.
* 09:00 - 17:30 Monday to Thursday
* 09:00 - 17:00 Friday
* Some evening work required
