Our charity headquarters and forward operating base are located at Rochester Airport, with our aircraft hangar and maintained at Redhill Aerodrome. When the call comes, we can reach any part of Kent, Surrey or Sussex in under 30 minutes.
Main Purpose of the role:
The Accountant is responsible for the day to day and month end maintenance and reporting of one or more of the legal entities within KSS. The role involves inward/outward invoicing including payment progression, cash handling and banking duties as well as month end finalisation. It also requires business partnering with internal stakeholders at various levels across KSS.
Main Responsibilities:
Contributing and supporting the team in undertaking the following tasks:
1. Cash & Bank
• Ownership of cash book and bank transactions
• Daily bank account review and balance reporting
• Weekly and month end reconciliations of bank accounts
1. Purchase Ledger
• Ownership of Purchase ledger
• Supporting supplier payments operations when required
• Prompt resolution of supplier enquiries, including internal and external liaison
• Managing outstanding balances and resolution
1. Sales Ledger and Credit control
• Ownership of Sales Ledger
• Day to day interaction with IGMC teams to capture sales activity
• Raising invoices when required, sales completeness checks and performance analysis
1. General accounting
• To undertake cash counting when required
• Day to day query handling and reporting across KSS
• Support Finance Manager with the month end and year end processes including:
• VAT and nominal coding allocations
• Review VAT treatments for compliance and complete quarterly VAT Returns as required
• Calculation of accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Maintenance of Fixed assets schedules
• Reconciliation of key accounts, Debtors, Sales, Stock & Creditors
• Preparation of supporting schedules and liaising with auditors
• Analytical review of TB and performance against budget and expectations
• Business partner with internal stakeholders including Income Generation, Marketing and Service Delivery including monthly meetings to validate income and expenditure against budget and projection of expected outturn
1. Merchandise and Stock
• Liaise with IGMC team to ensure stock inventory is prepared and available
• Receipt and issue of merchandising stock
• To assist with stock taking processes
