Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the food service industry, particularly in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting. The Kitchen Porter will be responsible for basic food preparation, cleaning duties, and supporting the overall hygiene standards of the establishment.
Duties
* Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to maintain cleanliness standards
* Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team
* Support chefs with ingredient organisation and stock replenishment
* Ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy throughout shifts
* Dispose of waste materials in accordance with health and safety regulations
* Maintain hygiene standards by regularly cleaning surfaces and floors in the kitchen
* Support with serving duties during busy periods if required
* Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Experience
* Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential
* Familiarity with food preparation and kitchen hygiene practices is advantageous
* Experience in customer service or serving roles can be beneficial but is not mandatory
* A keen interest in culinary arts or hospitality industry is preferred
* No formal qualifications are required; training will be provided on-site
