Noggin HQ is a VC-backed financial technology company based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Noggin's core technology helps companies accept more creditworthy individuals. Today, we do this by automatically categorising and enriching Open Banking data collected as part of credit applications.
The role: To succeed in this role, you must excel in a fast-paced, high-execution culture, and maintain exceptional standards at a critical stage. In particular, you will:
* Own the design, development, and deployment of key features, while setting technical direction and standards.
* Build scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems from the ground up.
* Collaborate closely with the Founders, Senior Leadership Team, and Data Team, to shape the product roadmap.
* Make technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and long-term scalability.
* Follow secure development practices and uphold the highest standards as it relates to IT security.
* Take initiative in solving challenging technical problems with minimal oversight.
* Be a self-starter who can take real ownership and responsibility for their work and objectives, be highly organised and have excellent communication & time management skills.
Tech stack:
* AWS - essential
* React / Next JS frontend with Material UI - essential
* NestJS backend with Typescript - essential
* PostgreSQL database - essential
* Firebase Auth - essential
* Drizzle ORM - desirable
* Flutter - desirable
Experience & skills:
* 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer utilising essential current tech stack.
* Relevant degree, e.g., Computer Science.
* Database management and database optimisation.
* Domain relevant experience, e.g., have worked at an FCA/PRA-regulated firm, including banks, lenders, financial data companies, credit risk companies, Credit Reference Agencies.
* Comfortable with AWS and Cloud Infrastructure.
