Job Opportunity: Floor Layer
We are seeking 1 Floor Layer for an approximate 12-month contract to work at properties across Nottingham City.
Working Hours: 37 hours per week with flexible and agile working arrangements (by agreement) to cover a 24/7 service. The role is off-site, with Harvey Road as the base location.
About the Role
This position provides additional team support to enhance the delivery of adaptations, helping to reduce the existing backlog managed by Adults and Social Care. The role involves maintaining assets to meet statutory and regulatory standards for housing, including installation, repair, and maintenance obligations as a landlord. The goal is to deliver high-quality rented housing, achieve tenant satisfaction, improve landlord-tenant relationships, and ensure health and safety compliance.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Experience in all aspects of floor and wall finishes, including wet-room wall boarding.
2. Experience in repairs, new builds, maintenance, or contract environments, including job assessment, inspection, and record updating.
3. Proficiency in using power tools and plant safely, following all safety procedures on and off-site.
4. Experience in investigations and testing to identify faults, root causes, and implement lasting solutions.
5. Ability to utilize skills from other trades to meet targets for first-time fixes when appropriate.
6. An organized yet flexible approach with the ability to meet deadlines.
7. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle, with willingness to use it for work and hold business insurance.
