Lynker Corporation is a leading provider of professional, scientific, and technical services supporting ocean, coastal, and fisheries science and management. We are currently seeking a Program Assistant to support the Industry Funded Scallop (IFS) Program within NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC), Northeast Field Operations (NEFOP), Fisheries Sampling Branch (FSB).
The IFS Program monitors the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic scallop fishery and manages observer deployment through an automated IVR system. The Program Assistant will support various administrative and operational tasks, including trip notifications, data entry, communication with industry members, and assisting with scallop-related data and outreach activities.
Responsibilities include:
1. Supporting phone and email notifications and data entry.
2. Assigning observer coverage and managing related spreadsheets.
3. Handling industry inquiries and issue resolution.
4. Verifying trip logs and supporting data quality assessments.
5. Providing pre-trip briefings and maintaining related records.
6. Participating in after-hours support and outreach events.
7. Assisting with data queries, audits, and training support.
8. Participating in research cruises and regional outreach activities.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
* B.S. in Marine Biology, Fisheries, or related field.
* Experience with NEFOP, IFS, small boats, or commercial fishing vessels.
* Biological research experience.
* Proficiency in GIS, SQL, and database management.
* Strong communication and team skills.
* Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification and valid driver’s license.
