This role sits within our busy Business and Executive Support team where you'll play a key role in ensuring a consistent high-level of business support across the organisation.
We are a team of 32, based across East Staffordshire. We support a number of teams within the Children and Families Service whose mission is to create an environment where families are supported to stay together safely and live well in their communities.
Working Hours and Salary
The post is part time and fixed term for 12 months and is based in Uttoxeter
Hours of work:
Tuesday and Thursday 9.00 am - 5.00 pm (1 hour for lunch)
Wednesday 9.00 am - 1.30 pm
Salary is pro rata to whole time equivalent
Main Responsibilities
* Providing administrative support to managers across a range of departments
* Attending and providing support at meetings including child protection conferences, from circulating agendas and papers, scheduling and diary management to taking and distributing notes
* Accurately inputting and maintaining confidential information to ensure children’s, families and staff system records are kept up to date
* Carrying out a range of financial transactions using the council’s finance systems including cash handling, placing orders for services/equipment, goods receipting in accordance with financial regulations
* Monitoring and maintaining financial records
The Ideal Candidate
* GCSE English and Maths grade C/4 or equivalent and Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience
* The ability to interpret and accurately input and retrieve data
* Experience of providing administrative support at meetings, including note taking
* Good written and oral communication skills at all levels – this post will involve liaising with a range of professionals and members of the public
* Sensitive and attentive listening skills and ability to accurately record the outcome of discussions and meetings
* A flexible approach and able to respond positively to changes in allocation of work at short notice
* Good numerical skills with attention to detail
* Good time management and organisational skills with an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and on own initiative
