An exciting opportunity has arisen on Gateley Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward for a band 3 HCSW to join our team. This is either full time hours - 37.5 per week or can be flexible with part time hours.
There is a fantastic opportunity for a HCA to develop their skills in Trauma and Orthopaedics, delivering specialised care to Spinal patients and post operative orthopaedic patients within a supportive, friendly ward environment. The successful applicant will be supported by our nursing team to build on and develop skills, including support with completion of care certificate, band 3 clinical skills, pre and post operative care, and spinal care.

Responsibilities
* The main duties of the Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) – Clinical Care involve providing high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to patients under the supervision of registered professionals.
* Assist with personal care, nutrition, wound care, mobility, and infection control.
* Monitor and record vital signs, support patients with toileting and hygiene needs, and maintain accurate documentation.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
* Participate in audits and service improvement initiatives.
* Support new staff and learners, and uphold NNUH’s PRIDE values.
* Work flexibly across clinical areas while maintaining professionalism and adhering to Trust policies and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker role within Trauma and Orthopaedics or similar clinical setting (experience in fast-paced environments preferred).
* Willingness to develop skills with support from nursing team, including care certificate, clinical skills, pre and post operative care, and spinal care.
* Ability to work with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team and participate in regional study days as offered.
