We are looking for an experienced and inspiring General Manager to lead the hospitality, conferencing, retail, and matchday operations at Alexander Stadium. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded operational leader to oversee a high‑profile venue, delivering exceptional customer experiences while driving operational excellence and financial performance.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading a large and diverse team, ensuring the smooth delivery of both matchday and non‑matchday operations. You will thrive in a fast‑paced environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on leadership to create a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing…
* Leading the day‑to‑day operation across hospitality, conferencing, retail, and event delivery within the stadium.
* Ensuring exceptional standards of customer service and operational delivery across all business areas.
* Managing matchday, conference, banquet, and retail operations to ensure seamless execution.
* Acting as the key operational link between the stadium events team and Elior, building strong and collaborative relationships.
* Driving commercial performance through effective budgeting, cost control, merchandising, and operational efficiencies.
* Monitoring operational performance and implementing improvements to exceed financial and service targets.
* Inspiring, developing, and leading a large and diverse team, creating a positive and high‑performing culture.
* Overseeing recruitment, succession planning, training, and team development across the venue.
* Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and external partners.
* Ensuring innovative and high‑quality food and hospitality presentation throughout the venue.
* Maintaining full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, COSHH, environmental policies, and company procedures.
* Taking ownership of operational risk management and ensuring a safe environment for customers, colleagues, and contractors.
