In-House Commercial Contracts Lawyer | NQ+ | International Law Firm | Manchester
A rare opportunity that sits outside traditional private practice. No billable targets, no timesheets. Instead you sit at the centre of a sophisticated law firm's own operations, drafting, negotiating and advising on the commercial contracts that keep it running.
The Firm
A well-established, international full-service practice with a strong Manchester base and a genuine commitment to innovation, collaboration and quality. The culture is collegiate and high trust, with high calibre colleagues and a supportive environment that offers real autonomy from an early stage.
The Role
You will join a centralised Procurement function working closely with the Office of General Counsel, Information Security and commercial procurement colleagues on a varied and genuinely interesting caseload of internal matters.
Day to day you will draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including supplier agreements, technology contracts, procurement frameworks and data processing agreements. The role also involves advising on risk, data protection and compliance including cross-border transfers, supporting strategic projects and driving continuous improvement in contracting processes, and collaborating with procurement teams and internal stakeholders.
For a lawyer at NQ+ level this role offers something genuinely different. You get the platform, brand and development support of a top tier international firm, but you work on the firm's own business with real autonomy, strategic influence and meaningful stakeholder relationships, all without the billing pressures of traditional private practice.
