Directorate: Supporting the University’s core operations and ensuring students, visitors, and staff are kept safe, secure, and comfortable, the Estates Services team is responsible for grounds, buildings, and services.
What you will be doing:
The Asset & Systems Manager will be central to effective maintenance and the delivery of building and services compliance. You will build and maintain a dataset for the wider team, ensuring a single source of truth (SSOT) for decision-making. Collaboration with the Estates & Facilities team and sector-wide partners will support operational activities and inform change programs.
You will be the ‘Superuser’ for Estates IT systems, liaising with suppliers, integrators, and the University’s IT team. You’ll lead the implementation, operation, and development of these systems, provide coaching and training, and drive technology-led change to ensure colleagues effectively use hand-held devices, systems, and cloud-based services.
Qualifications/experience:
* An NVQ level 4 qualification in a relevant subject (Facilities Management, Maintenance, Engineering, IT systems, Quantity Surveying, Contract Management, etc.) or relevant professional experience.
* Training or qualifications related to CAFM systems, IWMS, or EAM systems such as Planon, ServiceNow, Maximo, SAP, or similar.
* Significant experience using CAFM or similar database systems and Microsoft Office packages, including Excel and Power BI, managing asset data across large estates and multiple locations.
* Extensive experience in building fabric and services asset management, supporting FM/Maintenance providers or large in-house teams in dataset utilization for maintenance management.
