Business Development Manager Location: Heathrow Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 basic salary Bonus Monday to Friday 09:00-18:00 Role Summary Identify new clients, build relationships, and drive revenue by understanding customer needs and offering tailored freight / supply chain solutions. This involves market research, strategic planning, proposal writing, and close collaboration with operations to ensure seamless service delivery and exceeding sales targets. Duties and Responsibilities ·Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through targeted outreach, networking, and market analysis; develop and implement strategic sales plans. ·Develop and implement effective business development strategies to achieve revenue targets. ·Meet potential clients, understand their logistics challenges, present solutions, win the account and build strong, lasting relationships. ·Plan personal sales activity on a weekly basis and share with General Manager. ·Prepare and deliver compelling sales pitches, quotes, and proposals; negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close deals. ·Work closely with the General Manager, Operations, Finance and Customer Liaison to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction. ·Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities. ·Maintain sales pipeline, track performance, and report on progress, lost opportunities, and market intelligence to the General Manager / Managing Director. ·Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients. ·Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. ·Utilise social media regularly to drive marketing campaigns to promote our services. Create engaging content to increase business opportunities. Experience and Qualifications ·At least 3 years’ working experience in a business development role, demonstrating growth of existing accounts and new clients. ·Proven track record in business development within logistics or 3PL. ·Tenacious personality to sell services. Possess a hunter attitude. ·Experience of providing services to Freight Forwarding / AOG markets is advantageous. ·Same day / next day and logistics backgrounds will also be advantageous. ·Ability to work under pressure in busy fast-paced environment. ·Comprehensive understanding of logistics solutions. ·Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. ·Ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers. ·Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities. ·Entrepreneurial spirit with a focus on achieving revenue and profit targets. ·Highly organised and excellent time management skills. ·Ability to proactively develop clients through dynamic pricing as required. ·Team player as well as able to work independently.
