Prospero Teaching are supporting a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in the Chester area who are seeking a full-time Science Teacher for a long-term role starting in January. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate subject specialist who enjoys delivering high-quality lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4.
The role
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering creative, well-structured lessons that support pupils’ scientific understanding, exam preparation and overall development. You’ll work closely with the school’s science department, pastoral team and senior leaders to create a positive learning environment where students feel motivated, supported and valued. The school are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, proactive and committed to high teaching standards.
Responsibilities
4. Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the KS3 and KS4 science curriculum
5. Creating a supportive and stimulating classroom environment
6. Assessing, tracking and reporting on pupil progress
7. Supporting both academic and personal development of students
8. Managing behaviour in line with school policies
9. Working effectively with colleagues, support staff and pastoral teams
10. Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff

The ideal candidate
15. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
16. Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4
17. Confident, enthusiastic and able to motivate learners
18. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
19. Reliable, proactive and committed to high standards
20. Understanding of safeguarding and secondary school policies
