Guildhawk is an award‑winning AI company delivering enterprise‑grade language, communication technology, supplying human and language solutions to global organisations including Barclays, TikTok, Equinix, and the United Nations. Over the past 3 years, we have invested £4.5 million to develop a proprietary AI architecture that is secure, proven, and delivers measurable ROI for paying customers in high‑risk industries.
Having successfully introduced this technology, our next phase is scaling, expanding adoption across new clients, new sectors, and new use cases. While translation and multilingual communication remain core strengths, our architecture has far broader application, particularly in the deployment of sovereign Agentic AI for secure, automated workflows within regulated or business‑critical environments.
We are backed by Innovate UK and Sheffield Hallam University, and have been recognised for market disruption and innovation. With the platform fully developed and validated by clients, we are now focused on capturing the significant commercial opportunity. Currently, the company comprises of 25 staff of which, a third are dedicated to our proprietary product and technical development. This core team is further strengthened by a global network of 3,000 specialist contractors, enabling us to scale rapidly and deliver consistent, high‑quality outcomes.
The Role
We are appointing a Head of Operations / COO to take ownership of how Guildhawk operates, scales, and delivers, both across our AI technology business and our managed services / consultancy operations.
This is a company‑shaping role for someone earlier in their leadership career who brings high energy, commercial sharpness, and operational discipline. While the ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of relevant senior experience, we welcome applicants with more extensive backgrounds as long as they bring the required mindset, drive, and ability to transform business operations and scale.
You will partner directly with the CEO to:
* Lead the transformation of our consultancy / managed services business into a fully tech‑led, highly efficient operation.
* Lead the deployment of our proprietary AI-native solutions into client environments.
* Drive operational excellence across all teams.
This is a high‑energy, hands‑on role where your success depends on your commercial sharpness and the ability to inspire teams and clients.
What You Will Own
* Redesign and implement a scalable operating model supporting rapid growth across both AI product deployment and managed service delivery.
* Lead transformation of internal and external delivery processes, technology, operations, new ways of working, mindset, and governance.
* Lead technical teams through full deployment cycles.
* Be responsible for the commercial performance of the operational teams, delivery economics and P&L.
* Be part of the team bidding on major opportunities, shaping the operational response, strategic pricing, margin, and delivery plan.
* Maintain direct engagement with enterprise clients, ensuring all services are delivered to the expected and agreed standards.
* Align product, development, sales, and delivery around execution, outcomes, and with direct responsibility for maintaining ISO standards.
* Where necessary, identify, instigate and lead restructuring to ensure the effective transformation to a fully tech‑led, highly efficient operation.
Who We’re Looking For
A bright, energetic leader with a track record that includes:
* High-energy, hands-on natural leader with the charisma to inspire and influence teams, clients and partners.
* Experience in transforming or pivoting a consultancy or services business into a tech‑first or AI‑centric operation.
* Evidence of commercialising technology, successfully taking new or proprietary enterprise solutions to market.
* A commercial mindset focused on efficiency, outcomes, and scalable processes.
* Strong client‑facing experience, ideally including major bid participation, solution scoping, and operational design.
* High operational discipline, with the ability to run and transform cross‑functional teams.
* Prepare and deliver reports with recommendations to the Board.
* Deep understanding of secure, self‑contained, private cloud architectures (our market differentiator), and effective application of ISO standards 9001 and 27001.
* Ability to speak a second language.
* The candidate will have passion for technology and feel comfortable discussing coding, promoting etc.
Typical profile: 3–5 years into a leadership position, though we welcome applications from more experienced candidates who bring the required pace and mindset.
