As a Department Manager - Engineering, your role is to ensure the Engineering team meets the demands of our busy factories and minimises machinery downtime. It's a fast-paced and ever-changing environment — are you up for the challenge?
You would also be responsible for:
* Planning and prioritising work to minimise machinery downtime and ensure optimal use of resources
* Leading and supporting the Morrisons asset care programme, demonstrating its behaviours, and taking a hands-on approach to repairing and optimising the reliability of all equipment assets
* Coordinating maintenance priorities with the Maintenance team and planning ahead to prevent production disruptions, working closely with the site production team
* Undertaking crisis incident management, accident and near-miss investigations, and maintaining standards of discipline, handling infringements in line with company procedures
* Ensuring the reliability of all equipment assets

About you
Along with resilience, you should have:
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent, such as ONC in mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC Level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering)
* A proven track record in an engineering and fault-finding role within an FMCG environment (ideally in the food industry)
* Experience delivering strong results through team leadership
* A good understanding of HACCP principles; IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations is advantageous
* Strong leadership and coaching skills to engage, motivate, and develop large teams with diverse skill sets
