Job title: Mechanical & Electrical Technician — Ref 39224. Division: Asset Operations & Capital Delivery. Location: Esher, Surrey (KT10 8AU). Contract type: Permanent. Full-time: 38 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:30am – 3:36pm. Salary: up to £45,000 per annum plus standby & overtime opportunity (potential additional £8,000 - £10,000). Job grade: A. Closing date: 17/09/2025.
We have an exciting opportunity for a career-minded individual to join our Esher team as an Electrical and Mechanical Technician. Your role will be to perform a range of assigned front-line maintenance/operational activities on our sewage pumping stations in the Esher, Surrey area. This will include planned and preventative maintenance of sewage pumping stations to support the operation of our assets. On a day-to-day basis, you will receive your “workload” and will also be answering emergency alarms. You will be working as part of a team but may also be alone, which highlights the importance of our high health and safety standards. The role also requires you to take part in a 1 week in every 6 weeks out-of-hours emergency standby rota, for which you receive additional payments.
Base location: Esher – Surrey – KT10 8AU.
Responsibilities
* Maintain, test, install and fault-diagnose electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently as part of a multi-skilled team.
* Respond to workload allocations and emergency alarms as part of daily activities; may operate alone or within a team.
* Adhere to high health and safety standards; participate in appropriate safety training as required.
* Travel to and work within confined spaces when required, with completion of relevant training.
* Participate in a 1 week in every 6 weeks out-of-hours standby rota (additional payments).
Qualifications
* Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems in a true multi-skilled capacity; prior electrical apprenticeship experience preferred.
* ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering is desirable.
* Experience in maintaining, testing, installing and fault diagnosis on electrical plant equipment; strong health and safety awareness.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards; ability to work in confined spaces with appropriate training completed.
* Valid driving licence; all necessary equipment such as vehicles and tools provided.
