Job Opportunity: Ecologist
Location: Bedford
Salary: Negotiable - depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, Hybrid - onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)
Due to a rapidly increasing workload, our client is seeking a talented Ecologist to join their team and lead the expansion of national ecology services across the Group. Requirements and Responsibilities:
* Biodiversity Net Gain experience, including conducting and coordinating biodiversity impact assessments, BNG option assessments for planning applications, and drafting Biodiversity Gain Plans.
* Experience in purchasing biodiversity units and credits as part of offsetting schemes.
* Ecological survey experience, including Phase 1 Habitat Surveys, Ecological Impact Assessments, Biodiversity Enhancement & Management Plans, Natural England licence applications (bats, great crested newt, badger), and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
* Experience in planning and coordinating specialist ecological surveyors (independent contractors), likely based nationwide near development sites.
* Experience in preparing reports for planning submissions and discharging planning conditions.
* Ability to work as part of a team, dedicated to meeting client requirements and providing practical solutions.
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel as necessary.
