Brilliant owners that are super down to earth that are going to give you the space to spread your wings & run the site as if it were your own. A very straight forward to run operation with a dedicated team - I really get the sense this is going to suit a Deputy Manager (or even a first appointment Deputy General Manager) who wants to escape the rat race of their current role & take on a role where they can strip away all the complexities and frustrations of their current work life & just enjoy building relationships with some lovely local clientele that genuinely love being in the site. Its very well run, super friendly - everything you would want from a local neighbourhood business.
There is a retail QSR element to this business - but at its core its a hospitality business where all are welcome to come & enjoy the food, so there is no pre-requisite to come from a retail background but you must be able to demonstrate a track record in driving success in your previous roles. The business is going through a period of growth & the highly entrepreneurial owners are potentially looking to open a 2nd site - so they are looking to break the mould with this appointment, someone who has real potential.
We are inviting applications from go-getter Deputy Managers who feel ready for their first Deputy General Manager appointment or from a General Manager who is looking to switch up the odds & shoot the lights out with their next move.
The target salary is £40k - £45k but the client is open to those earning up to £45k - so please feel free to apply if you are currently earning a slightly higher salary.
This is a Deputy Manager role that isn't going to be for everyone. It's aimed at a Deputy Manager who is growing tired of thankless corporate contingency and all of the daily tick box exercises and the paperwork that goes with it - or a Deputy Manager who think their only two options are to either get a job managing a large team & push for a regional role within 6 - 12 months or set up on their own. It's for a Deputy Manager who know that there is a lot more to running a business than just running shifts. It's for those who want the term "my guests" to actually mean something. Perhaps most importantly it's for Managers in companies who don't want to lose the fire in their belly simply because their current company has got nothing else to offer them.
