Brief Description
Delivery of all on-track machine operations to the required timescales, quality, and specifications.
About the role (External)
Key Accountabilities:
* Mark up obstructions for tamping/stoneblower operations. Liaise with machine operators and check machine output to ensure high standards of work.
* Supervise on-track machine operations to deliver optimal output.
* Mark up design lifts and slues and verify schemes.
* Check clearances for tamping/stoneblower operations through structures.
* Plan and conduct site inspections to identify preparatory work for tamping/stoneblower operations, in coordination with Track Section Managers.
* Direct and supervise staff assisting with on-track machine operations.
* Maintain records of tamping/stoneblower operations in accordance with procedures, both paper and electronic.
* Assist with other duties as assigned by the Assistant Track Maintenance Engineer.
Job Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
Essential
* Knowledge of types of On-Track Machines
* Understanding of Track Geometry principles
* Experience in track geometry measurement
* Experience in setting out for On Track Plant
* Competent to be an Engineering Supervisor
Desirable
* Knowledge of Track Geometry design
