Job Description
This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious team committed to creating vibrant, sustainable communities, high‑quality development and employment opportunities, and delivering exceptional public services across Bridgend County Borough, the third fastest growing region in Wales.
We are now seeking an outstanding individual to take on the critical role of Head of Service – Public Realm. This newly created role will lead a diverse portfolio of statutory and public‑facing services, including Planning & Development, Strategic Regeneration, Economic Development, Green Spaces, Bereavement Services, and Sustainability. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our communities through innovative strategies and transformational change.
Working closely with the Corporate Director – Communities, you will provide strategic leadership and operational excellence, ensuring the delivery of capital programmes and regeneration schemes, and lead economic development services to meet statutory requirements and evolving resident needs.
With significant experience in managing public‑facing services, leading organisational change, and delivering complex projects, you will bring vision, resilience and a collaborative approach to this new role and help deliver Bridgend’s ambitions.

Significant experience in managing public‑facing services, leading organisational change, delivering complex projects, with vision, resilience and a collaborative approach. Ability to engage stakeholders, influence policy and drive sustainable outcomes.
