Send level 2 caseworker

Boston
Lincolnshire County Council
Posted: 18h ago
Offer description

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time SEND Level 2 Caseworker to join our Boston and South Holland (BSH) SEND locality team on a permanent basis. We also have a full-time SEND Level 2 Caseworker position for our Lincoln and West Lindsey (LWL) team on a 12-18 month fixed-term contract (please note this could be a secondment opportunity).

About the role

SEND Level 2 Caseworkers manage a defined and complex caseload of children and young people with Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Plans. They facilitate and coordinate the statutory EHC assessment process for children and young people (0-25 years old) within the timeline set out by the SEND Code of Practice (2015). This includes ensuring appropriate services and provisions are provided to meet children and young people's needs and help them achieve the best possible educational, health, and care outcomes.

This role involves working in partnership with children, young people, their families, professional agencies, and the third sector to develop, draft, and write final needs-led EHC plans to achieve stated objectives, outcomes, and aspirations. SEND Level 2 Caseworkers ensure that the child, young person, and their family can participate as fully as possible in decision-making.

SEND Level 2 Caseworkers are responsible for any SEND Tribunals related to children or young people on their caseload and liaise directly with our dedicated Legal Team, who represent the Local Authority in Tribunal hearings.

They are also responsible for supervising and line managing a SEND Level 1 Caseworker or a SEND Assistant Caseworker.
