Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Forensic Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (FIND) Service. The service comprises three teams: Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT), Forensic Personality Disorder Service (FPDS), and FIND. FIND is expanding in 2024/2025 and serves Devon (including Plymouth), Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly. It provides care pathways for men and women with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, and/or Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), aiming to optimize length of stay and the forensic care pathway, reducing out-of-area placements and efficiently utilizing South West network beds.

The service currently offers Signposting and advice (Tier 1), Consultation, training and supervision (Tier 2), Joint work, Care pathway management, and Access assessment (Tier 3). Post-expansion, the team will also manage a small caseload of Tier 4 Care co-ordination. The post-holder will join a motivated team, delivering a range of care within this structured system, with a capped caseload and acting as community Responsible Clinician. The role involves contributing to the growth and development of the service.
