They would be a key point of contact for those facing homelessness to deliver the Council’s statutory obligations under the Housing Act 1996 Part Vll, and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.The ability to empathise with clients and engage with potentially vulnerable people is essential.The role involves:Interviewing those approaching the Council as homelessWorking with clients to find solutions to their homelessnessAdministering and discharging the Council’s statutory and regulatory obligations to people threatened with or experiencing homelessnessWriting to clients accepting and ending legal dutiesLiaison with statutory and non-statutory agencies to investigate homelessness and to assist in the prevention or relief of homelessnessGiving housing advice tailored to the needs of the clients About youTo be considered for this role you will need: To be customer focused and dedicated to providing an excellent serviceHave previous experience of working in a similar role in a housing or customer service environment Be a team player Have good I.T. skillsBe able to initiate creative solutions for service improvementsTo be able to prioritise a varied workloadTo be able to deal with difficult situations in a calm and caring mannerPrevious experience in a similar roleA good level of numeracy and literacy skillsA detailed knowledge of housing related legislationExcellent computer skills and good working knowledge of computer systemsThis post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
