Overview
Reinforced Concrete Civil/Structural/Temporary Work Engineer role at setec. This is a site-based opportunity on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear new build project, one of the world’s largest construction projects.
Base pay range and further details are discussed with your recruiter. The project exposes you to the latest technology and 3D BIM rebar modelling in TEKLA on a large industrial project. The site engineering team is located on the construction site in Somerset and in the Bristol office, across multiple disciplines.
Location
Hinkley Point C Site (Bridgwater, Somerset, England) and Bristol.
Responsibilities
* Modifying reinforced concrete or steel structure designs compliant with ETC-C or other relevant codes (Eurocodes) and project methodology.
* Checking and coordinating detailing activities with CAD designers or other engineers for 3D BIM rebar models and/or 2D drawings of reinforced concrete or steel structures.
* Managing engineering changes in line with company/project procedures and QA processes.
* Assessing and responding to Field Changes Requests, Field Information Requests or Site Non-Conformance from civil works contractors.
* Liaising with site engineering team or construction team for clarification on site requests.
* Liaising with Back Office in France, Poland, Romania and Tunisia for design package clarification or closing out design package issues.
* Technical review and acceptance of contractor deliverables.
* Site walkdowns and inspections.
Profile
Your skills and attitude towards innovative 3D rebar modelling are key. You will work closely with other engineers, BIM Coordinator, chief draftsman, draftsmen, project managers and multi-disciplinary teams to define solutions.
From a technical perspective, we look for a mix of design experience, site experience, and experience within a highly regulated industry such as the nuclear sector.
Required/Desirable Experience
* Civil Engineers / Infrastructure Engineers
* Method engineers or Temporary Works engineers
* Structural Engineers
* Working knowledge of detailed design phases and transition to construction
* Responsibility for scheduling engineering tasks and meeting management, scheduling, and commercial requirements
* Experience delivering engineering solutions on site with contractors
* Previous experience in the nuclear industry or other highly heavy industry sectors
