Coventry Building Society has an exciting new role for a Release Train Engineer to work across our Data Portfolio. Following the integration of The Co-operative Bank into our Group, this role is pivotal in ensuring a successful merger. You will orchestrate the delivery of multiple change initiatives, working with dedicated and shared resources across technology and business units. Your role includes coaching teams within an Agile Release Train (ART) to deliver significant business outcomes in a dynamic environment that embraces new ways of working and continuous improvement. This extends to working with traditional programmatic portfolios to deliver joint outcomes.
The Release Train Engineer will also participate in the Lean-Agile transformation, coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in new processes and mindsets. You will manage and optimise the flow of value using various tools, agile management practices, and DevOps ways of working. Additionally, you will manage effective ART ceremonies such as PI Planning and Syncs, ensuring they deliver expected outcomes that drive relentless improvement.

About you
You'll be an expert agile practitioner with experience in agile scaling frameworks, familiar with Waterfall and Agile methodologies working harmoniously. You will have demonstrable experience leading trains to deliver business outcomes and continuous improvement. As an experienced facilitator, you'll ensure every ART ceremony delivers the expected outcomes while managing multiple tasks to deliver on time.
To be successful, you should demonstrate:
* Experience delivering and leading teams within a Data-led context
* Problem-solving skills for delivery issues, risk and dependency mitigation at train and portfolio levels
* Integrity and conflict resolution skills
* Experience with Waterfall and Agile delivery models and consistent results in large, complex businesses
* Program management and technology delivery experience, supporting future shaping and resource planning within budgets
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder engagement at all levels
* Stakeholder management experience, including external partners
Desirable skills include being a people developer and coach, with the ability to listen, gather ideas, and shield the team from external interference to optimise productivity.
